Global Edge Position As Natural Partner To OEMS And EMS

Global Edge Software Ltd., embedded software solutions provider for the global communication, automotive and consumer electronics industries, is positioning itself as a natural partner to OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) companies by providing holistic, end to end product realization capability in selected industry segments.

Commenting on the Company's growth plans, M.P.Kumar, Chairman and CEO, GlobalEdge said "Our strategy is to take GlobalEdge to its next phase of growth by positioning it as a high value player - a Product Realization Partner to leading OEMs and EMS players in the Wireless and Communications space." He further added that the company's top priority over the next six months would be to establish the right partnerships and acquire additional customers who can greatly benefit from the company's transformation.

Sarbpreet Singh, former Senior Vice President and General Manager, Infrastructure Products and Services at Flextronics International, has joined GlobalEdge as President and COO. Singh was instrumental in scaling the Chennai based communications software provider FutureSoft, doubling its size in two years and leading it to a successful exit through acquisition by Flextronics International, a leading EMS company. Singh also managed various businesses in the Carrier Networking and Consumer DSP segments at Lucent Technologies (now Alcatel Lucent) and Lucent Microelectronics (now a part of LSI Logic).

The senior leadership team has been further strengthened by bringing on additional proven talent in key functional areas such as operations, delivery, sales and marketing.

"With our top notch talent, the strategic initiatives being planned and our strong execution focus, we are well positioned to become a leading player in the embedded solutions space" added Kumar.

On the sales front, GlobalEdge's plans include opening new offices and augmenting its channel partners. The company now has two offices in US - at Santa Clara and Boston and is planning to open an office in Europe. New channel partnerships are being put in place.

GlobalEdge is uniquely positioned to benefit from these trends; its large team of engineers possesses the embedded development skills and the domain knowledge that is essential for building products in some of the most promising product segments.

The company is executing a three pronged tactical plan to transform itself:

1.Significantly boost the company's sales and marketing engine by bringing in additional talent on the sales and product management fronts.

2.Aggressive partnering plan to strike strategic alliances with silicon vendors that lead the market segments of interest.

3.Plug any functional gaps that exist, within the context of the new business strategy.
