REL Inks Rs 800 Cr JV With Power Grid

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) inked a joint venture with Reliance Energy worth Rs 800 crore. Anil Ambani''s REL holds 74 per cent in Parbati-Koldam power transmission joint venture. The project will carry power from NHPC and NTPC''s hydro projects in Himachal Pradesh.

REL is now charged up and wants more transmission projects in the western region. Anil Ambani is all set to make his group fully integrated after he completes the Reliance Power IPO. After this the production projects will be transferred to Reliance Power. Anil Ambani is making it sure that after hiving of Reliance power, REL have enough business in its kitty and these transmission projects would add value.
