New Delhi: Hyundai Motor India, the country''s second-largest carmaker, sold 29,001 cars in February, an increase of 16 per cent over the same month a year ago. However, sales in the domestic market dwinled 5.5 per cent on year at 14,600 units. The company registered exports of 14,401 units for the month, a 50.5 per cent year-on-year growth. The company recently doubled its production capacity to 600,000 units per annum.
Segment wise sales stood at-24,563 units in A1 segment, 4,402 units in A2 segment, 27 units in the A4 segment and 9 units of sports utility vehicle. Apart from the Santro, Getz and i10, Hyundai India sells mid-sized cars Accent and Verna, and sedan Elantra. The company also sells premium sedan Sonata Embera and a sports utility vehicle Tucson.
