JSW Steel Inaugurates Branded Showroom In Ahmedabad - June 13, 2008

JSW Steel inaugurated JSW Shoppe, an exclusive steel retail outlet in Ahmedabad on 12 June 2008. This exclusive showroom is JSW Steel''s first in Gujarat.This novel marketing initiative will go a long way in creating brand awareness about JSW Steel''s superior product quality and will ensure that the customers get full value for money. JSW Steel has two shoppes at Hubli Karnataka, one at Jaipur - Rajasthan and one in Kolhapur - Maharashtra. The company plans to open around 25 such shoppes in a short span and subsequently will have a pari-India presence with over 600 branded outlets.

JSW steel is in the midst of an exponential growth. Its steel plants in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu together produce around 4.8 million tonnes of steel per annum. By mid 2008, the capacity will increase to around 8 million tonnes per annum. With steel plants coming up in West Bengal and Jharkhand, JSW Steel aims to produce 31 million tonnes of steel by the year 2020. The company made this announcement during the trading hours today, 12 June 2008.

Intas Opening Plasma Fractionation Facility

Ahmedabad: Celestial Biological, a subsidiary of Intas Biopharmaceuticals Limited, is in the process of opening the country''s first plasma fractionation facility near Ahmedabad. The company will infuse Rs 100-120 crore over the next two years and has begun the spadework on the seven acre land it has acquired at Matoda. Initially, the manufacturing unit will have an installed capacity to fractionate 150,000 litres per annum of plasma. The company targets to scale this up to 300,000 litres per annum. Celestial Biologicals has ties up with a chain of blood banks along with Prathama, an NGO, to begin the facility. Implementation of its own plasma fractionation facilities will enable Celestial to leverage its inherent strengths in the areas of biotechnology and transfusion medicine and research. The unit will also enable expansion of its product range by extracting other plasma proteins from source plasma, including Alubumin, Immunoglobulin, Factor VIII, Factor IX, once parameters such as yields, fractionation charges, market demand and pricing are established for these products.

ICICI Pru Forges Services Alliance With Dept Of Posts

Ahmedabad: ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company announced on forge its service alliance with the Department of Posts to facilitate its policyholders gain access to a network of post-offices, particularly in the rural areas, for premium payment. After Punjab, Gujarat is the second State where ICICI Prudential has launched this institutional tie-up for cash management , the source said. ICICI Prudential has planned a similar partnership with the DoPs in other States as well. With these measures, customers would now be able to fill their application forms and policy documents in local languages. ICICI Prudential has already announced similar institutional tie-ups with e-mitra, the e-governance initiative of the Rajasthan Government, APOnline of the Andhra Pradesh Government, South Indian Bank in Kerala, among others.
