BSNL Union Defends VRS
New Delhi: BSNL Employees Union on Aug 1, defended the management''s proposal for Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) of 20,000 employees and threatened to go on agitation if the proposal was not dropped. They strongly protests against this anti-worker proposal and demand that the management immediately drop the same, failing which the union will be compelled to go on agitation to safeguard the job security of the employees. It said there was no necessity to impose VRS or Compulsory Retirement Scheme (CRS). The management has no authority to take such decisions without consulting the staff and the recognised union.
